Kenwei Showcases Smart High-Speed Multihead Weighers and Intelligent Packaging Solutions at ProPak China 2018

At the ProPak China 2018 exhibition, Kenwei, a pioneer in combination weighing solutions, showcased its latest breakthroughs in high-speed and networked packaging equipment. Reinforcing its leadership in smart packaging innovation, Kenwei unveiled several upgraded systems that address the demands of modern manufacturing under the banner of Industry 4.0.

Next-Generation High-Speed Multihead Weighers

A standout among the new releases was Kenwei's 4th Generation multihead weigher series, including the 3-layer 8-head, 16-head, and 24-head models. These multi-layer designs with memory hoppers double the number of combinations within the same footprint, significantly enhancing packaging efficiency.

For example, the 24-head model can perform independent combinations across four sections simultaneously. This allows a single material to be packed at speeds of up to 240 bags per minute, while supporting up to four different materials at once. These machines meet the dual demands of high speed and high precision, making them ideal for large-scale food packaging lines.

Seamless Networking for Intelligent Factory Integration

Taking a step toward full smart factory integration, Kenwei’s new weighers feature built-in network interfaces, allowing direct communication with ERP and MES systems. This enables remote control, real-time data access, and fully automated work order execution — laying the groundwork for intelligent packaging lines that align with Industry 4.0 standards.

Diversified Solutions for Broader Industries

Kenwei also introduced several new solutions to serve broader applications:

• Dual-Channel 8-Track Electronic Counting Machine – Designed specifically for the pharmaceutical sector, this device improves efficiency and accuracy in tablet and capsule packaging.

• GL2415 Aluminum Foil Metal Detector – Tailored for the vacuum packaging of pickled and cooked foods, this machine ensures product safety while maintaining production flow.

• High-Speed Parallel Manipulators – These robots provide accurate sorting and positioning, efficiently arranging products for secondary packaging. By replacing manual operations, they mark a shift from labor-intensive processes to automated precision.
