About the Mid-Autumn Festival
The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most important traditional celebrations in Chinese culture. With a history dating back over 3,000 years to the Shang Dynasty, this holiday has long been a symbol of reunion, gratitude, and prosperity.
Although it originated in China, the Mid-Autumn Festival is now celebrated across East and Southeast Asia, including in Vietnam, Korea, Japan, and the Philippines, reflecting the global influence of Chinese culture.
Mooncakes: A Delicious Tradition
A defining feature of the Mid-Autumn Festival is the mooncake—a round pastry traditionally filled with lotus seed paste, red bean paste, or melon seeds. The shape of the mooncake symbolizes family unity and completeness.

He gave the potion to his wife, Chang’e, for safekeeping, but she later drank it and ascended to the moon.
In her honor, people offer mooncakes and prayers during the festival, hoping for blessings and family harmony.
